*Bondowoso Police Monitor Food Staples to Maintain Price Stability Post-Eid*

BONDOWOSO - The Bondowoso Police, East Java Regional Police, continues to maintain food stability after Eid al-Fitr.

This time, the Bondowoso Police Food Task Force, together with related agencies, conducted supervision by going directly to the main market in Bondowoso, Tuesday (31/3/26).

This intensive monitoring focuses on the price, availability, and quality of essential staple foods (Bapokting) to ensure that people's needs are met safely and affordably after Eid.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bondowoso Police, Iptu Wawan Triono, SH, MH said, the Team carried out comprehensive monitoring of a number of main commodities such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, eggs, and other basic necessities.

"This step is part of a preventative effort to anticipate price spikes, shortages, and potential distribution irregularities following religious holidays," said First Inspector Wawan.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bondowoso Police emphasized that supervision is carried out seriously and continuously to protect the public from fraudulent practices in the trade sector.

"We ensure there is no hoarding, price gouging, or distribution of substandard staple foods from before to after Eid," explained First Inspector Wawan.

He appealed to all business actors, especially those in the grocery sector, to comply with the regulations to maintain regional economic stability.

In a separate location, Bondowoso Police Chief AKBP Dr Aryo Dwi Wibowo, SH, SIK, MM emphasized that this activity is a form of state presence in ensuring the welfare of the community.

"We want to ensure that the distribution of basic necessities runs smoothly, prices remain under control, and the public feels secure in meeting their daily needs," said AKBP Aryo.

This integrated supervision not only aims to maintain market stability, but also to provide a sense of calm for the public after celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

"With the availability of basic commodities maintained and prices stable, it is hoped that the economy in Bondowoso will continue to move healthily," he said.

This proactive step demonstrates the synergy between agencies in maintaining regional food security and strengthens public trust in the government's efforts to protect the public interest. (*)
